(1) When the 3M polyurethane timing belt is automatically tensioned, the teeth of the belt will jump out of the pulley groove until the tension strengthened by the tight edge of the belt forces the teeth of the belt into the pulley groove again. When the timing belt passively returns to the pulley groove, the contact point between the belt and the pulley often causes severe momentary bending, which will cause damage to the timing belt core wire. This part of the core wire damage is called buckling. If the tight side tension cannot make the teeth of the timing belt enter the pulley groove, it will generate jumping teeth, and it will also cause buckling failure or damage to the teeth of the timing belt. 
(2) When the 3M polyurethane timing belt enters the pulley with a too small diameter, it will also cause damage or bending failure of the belt core. The belt pulley and the rear idler are lower than the specified value, and even the timing belt is bent to a small acute angle by hand, which will cause the timing belt to bend and fail. Other debris entering the transmission will also cause the timing belt to bend. They will form an acute angle between the belt and the pulley, causing the core of the timing belt to bend at this point. Using a tool to pry the belt onto the pulley will also damage the belt. 
(3) When the timing belt is damaged due to entry of other objects or improper use of tools during installation, the timing belt will not immediately fail, but the overall life of the timing belt will be shortened.
