Application Analysis of Transistor Power Supply with Double Pressure Aluminum Melting Furnace Load

1 Overview

The IGBT transistor MF power melting aluminum furnace adopts a double-voltage series-parallel resonant load circuit. This circuit has a series of advantages such as large output power, small output current, high load coil voltage, low loss, and excellent starting performance. The voltage doubler capacitor boosting resonant circuit compensates a part of the power without a series capacitor, and is still inductive after the compensation, and then uses the parallel capacitor to compensate another part of the reactive power, so that the load is capacitive. Therefore, the voltage doubler resonant load circuit still has the property of a parallel resonant load circuit.

It should be noted that the smaller the series capacitance, the larger the capacitive reactance and the higher the boost voltage. In actual use, the series capacitance is slightly larger than the parallel capacitance, so that the voltage is nearly doubled (the two can be equal). However, considering the comprehensive application results of other parameters of the furnace, it is better to match the load or take the series capacitance slightly larger than the parallel capacitance.
