On June 24, the Ministry of Commerce of China stated late Wednesday that it regretted Australia’s initiation of an anti-dumping and anti-subsidy merger investigation against aluminum extrusions originating in or exported from China. Yao Jian, spokesman of the Ministry of Commerce, said in an announcement that the Chinese side regretted that the Australian side had initiated three investigations of the Shuanghe counter-fighting against China in a year. The Australian Customs & Border Protection Service said earlier on Wednesday that Australian aluminum producers have filed a complaint about Chinese exporters selling aluminum at below-normal prices. Earlier Wednesday, China’s Ministry of Commerce refuted China’s restrictions on the export of certain raw materials and caused the United States and the European Union to take trade actions. China also requested the WTO to set up an expert group to examine the United States' measures to restrict the import of poultry meat in China. Yao Jian stated in a separate announcement that China restricts the export of certain raw materials to protect the environment and does not violate any WTO regulations. Yao Jian said that China believes that the relevant policies are in line with WTO regulations. The Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China also stated that the U.S. measures to restrict the import of poultry meat from China are obviously discriminatory, violate WTO rules, and harm the legitimate rights and interests of the Chinese poultry meat industry.
