Japanese media: China's renewable energy company wants to seize the Japanese market

According to the report of Japan’s “Asahi Shimbun” on July 12, after the nuclear crisis in Fukushima in Japan broke out, the anti-nuclear sentiment of the people was increasing, forcing the government to seek alternative safe sources of renewable energy instead of nuclear power. Chinese renewable energy companies are looking for opportunities to enter the Japanese market.

After the nuclear accident at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in Japan, renewable energy sources such as wind power and solar energy received attention again. Both Goldwind Science & Technology Co., Ltd. and Yingli Green Energy Holding Co., Ltd. are seeking opportunities to enter the Japanese energy market.

Goldwind is one of the five largest manufacturers of wind energy equipment in the world, producing 7,800 wind turbines per year, which is three times that of Japan's installed wind turbines. Yingli Group mainly produces solar panels and cooperates with German companies. Its share in the European market is constantly increasing. The company also establishes offices in the United States, Germany, France, and Italy. Yingli is also a sponsor of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa and the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

It is reported that Goldwind Technology has signed an agreement with Wind-Smile Co., Ltd. in Japan at the end of 2010 to prepare its export products for the first time, and the price is less than half that of similar products in Japan. The President of Wind-Smile Co., Ltd. stated that the Chinese partner will become the “dark horse” in the Japanese wind energy market.

In 2010, China replaced the United States and became the world’s largest wind power producer. China's wind power capacity has increased 35-fold in the past five years, generating 45 billion watts of electricity and nuclear power generating 11 billion watts. In addition, China's solar power generation equipment accounts for nearly half of the world's production.
