Ministry of Industry and Information Technology strictly controls the construction of new polysilicon projects in areas with higher electricity prices

The "Conditions" stipulates that the newly-built polysilicon project will no longer be approved in principle until the new directory for the approval of government investment projects is issued. However, projects that need to be built to strengthen technological innovation and promote energy conservation and environmental protection shall be submitted to the competent investment department of the State Council for organizational verification and approval. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Environmental Protection issued yesterday the "Polysilicon Industry Access Requirements" (hereinafter referred to as "conditions"), and "conditions" stipulate that the principle of new polysilicon projects shall be established before the new directory of approved government investment projects is issued. No longer approved. In terms of project construction conditions and production layout, the “Conditions” stipulate that polysilicon projects should be in line with national industrial policies, land use policies, and industry development plans, and the minimum capital ratio of investment in new construction and expansion projects should not be less than 30%. We will strictly control new polysilicon projects in areas with energy shortages and high electricity prices, and will not approve or file polysilicon projects that lack comprehensive support, safety and health, and environmental protection. The "Conditions" also stipulates that the basic farmland protection areas, nature reserves, scenic spots, and drinking water source protection areas established in accordance with the law, residents' concentration areas, health resorts, food production areas, and other places with high environmental conditions within 1,000 meters or within the country In the sensitive areas of key ecological function areas planned by local governments, no new polysilicon projects may be built. Those that have already put into operation in the above-mentioned areas shall be relocated or discontinued according to law.
