Spot price of vinyl acetate fell further by US$50/ton

Business News Agency reported on June 20th that the spot price of vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) in the United States continued to fall by US$50/tonne to US$850-950/tonne last week due to lower ethylene costs. Last week, US spot ethylene fell to a new low of 39.50-41.00 cents/lb for 20 months, but prices rebounded slightly due to slight improvement in raw material costs and demand. Buyers in Latin America said that in some South American countries, VAM spot price is about 810 US dollars / ton. Major vinyl acetate manufacturers in the United States include Celanese, Dow Chemical, DuPont, and LyondellBasell.
