Vegetable early flower response

The recent continuous low temperature weather has adversely affected the production of cruciferous vegetable varieties. On March 23, Chengdu Agricultural Technology Station went to the investigation of vegetable production bases such as Jintang and Shuangliu. It was found that different varieties of broccoli and white cauliflower showed different patterns of early flowering, hairy flowers and purple flowers, and a few cabbages showed convulsions. In particular, the proportion of Spring cauliflower is large.

According to the investigation and analysis, since the temperature in autumn last year was higher than that in previous years, the cold weather continued to be longer after winter, which caused the early flowering of the flowering grass in the seedling stage to cause premature differentiation of the flower ball. The plant was small in vegetative body. At that time, flower balls are formed, and early flowers appear; after the spring, the weather is alternated with high temperature and low temperature, especially when the temperature of the flower ball is close to maturity, so that the hair and purple flowers occur again. The phenomenon of early flowering, hairy flowering and purple flowering was more serious in plants with earlier sowing time and weaker growth, and the varieties with longer growth period did not occur. A small number of early spring cabbages are also affected by abnormal weather, and uncooked convulsions occur.

In response to the above-mentioned phenomena, combined with the recent climate characteristics, the following management measures are proposed for crops such as white cauliflower and cabbage, which are sensitive to climate change cruciferous crops.

1. For the longer growth period and later planting, there are no early blooms or lighter varieties. It is necessary to strengthen the field management and timely supply fertilizer to ensure the vegetative growth of the plants within a certain growth period.

2. Mature flower balls with hairy flowers and purple flowers should be harvested in time to reduce losses.

3. Combine the actual situation and arrange the crops afterwards.
