4. Smoke or wind barriers. Before the frost comes, the weeds, straw, litter, etc. are piled up in the wind, which can effectively dispel the cold current and protect the vegetables from freezing damage. It is also used as a wind barrier of 1-1.5 meters high in the north side of the vegetable field to prevent the cold wind from directly invading the vegetables and reducing the freezing damage.
