Application of tool radius compensation function in numerical control machining (1)

When using CNC machine tools for part machining, the tool's motion trajectory is not only controlled by the machining program, but also related to the radius and length of the tool. The tool radius compensation function in the CNC system is to enable the same part machining program to use different radii. The tool is set to machine a part of a specified size. This paper introduces the main performance and application examples of this function by taking the OSP-U10/U100 numerical control system produced by OKUMA.
