According to the German professional magazine “Solar Energy” reported in March this year, in 2010, global solar cell production increased 118% year-on-year. Among the top 10 producers in the world, 4 are Chinese companies, and China’s share in the global solar cell market has increased from 15.4% in 2009 to 47.8% in 2010.

The report pointed out that although the solar energy industry is booming, the share of German manufacturers in the world's solar cell market has decreased significantly, from 15.4% to 9.8%. Among the top 10 manufacturers, there is only one German company.

The magazine criticized that the cheap competition in China, the resulting decline in solar modules, and the reduction of solar energy subsidies by the German government are the main reasons for the decline in the share of the German solar industry in the global market.

However, since the German Chancellor Angela Merkel announced the suspension of the implementation of the nuclear power operation extension law three months later, the German solar energy company's stock value increased significantly. Among them, the value of solar cell manufacturers rose by 30% in one day.

While the German media expressed concern about its indigenous solar market, on March 19th, the 2011 Summit of the China Development High-level Forum held a business summit in Beijing. According to related parties in the domestic solar energy industry, 95% of solar cell manufacturers in China were exported for the purpose of reducing costs in the world.
