Measures for the Hygiene Management of Food Containers with Perchloroethylene Inner Wall Coatings

Article 1 These Measures are formulated for the purpose of implementing the "People's Republic of China Food Hygiene Law (Trial)" and strengthening the sanitation management of food container inner wall coatings to ensure the quality of food hygiene.

Article 2 The management scope of this method refers to the coating used directly for containers made of steel and cement.

Article 3 When producing food-contact containers, food production and operation enterprises must conduct construction according to the raw materials, formulas, and construction processes that have been formulated by the paint production units and are approved.

The paints and auxiliaries used in Article 4 shall be the permitted types of foods specified in the Sanitary Standards for Food Container Interior Wall Coatings.

Article 5 With the use of new raw materials for the production of new varieties of food contact containers, production and business enterprises must put forward the data (including toxicological evaluation, inspection methods, and hygiene standards) required for the evaluation of the products before they are put into production. Before the above varieties are put into production, they are required to provide samples and submit their approvals in accordance with the provisions of the food sanitation standard approval procedures.

Article 6 Production and business operators shall produce the paints specified in the hygiene standards after they have passed the inspection in batches.

Article 7 The container wall coating that contacts food shall be marked with a food container mark on each package, with the name, model number, production date, batch number, production unit and expiration date.

Article 8 The paint on the inner walls of containers that come into contact with foods shall not be exposed to toxic or hazardous substances during transportation or storage.

Article 9 In order to strengthen the supervision and administration of food hygiene, the food hygiene supervisory agency may inform the production and sales department of the situation, take samples for free, and give an official receipt.
